Tikman Ang Langit

Epic Movie

Epic Movie follows the tradition of Scary Movie and Date Movie and spoofs some of the top movies in 2005-2006. Movies like this are generally said to be money-makers or milking cows of the major studios. They are able to come up with relatively low-budget films that rake in dollars in the box office because they bank on the popularity of previous releases. Epic Movie is not exactly several-laughs-a-minute good. It has it's shining moments though, but this will depend on whether you have seen most of the movies it tries to parody (Da Vinci Code, X3, Snakes On A Plane, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, Nacho Libre, The Chronicles of Narnia, Pirates Of The Carribean to name a few).

MYMP!

Si DJ Claudine ng bagong FM station na Heart 103.5 ("Easy listening the way it should be" daw) ang nagpakilala sa MYMP.

"You Got It All", "So Perfect" (na gawa ni Juris) at "Only Reminds Me Of You". Sobrang ganda talaga ng boses ni Juris!

Kumanta sina Juris ang Chin sa "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now".

Napakatangkad ng kanilang line-up at mahusay silang maglaro.
...Magsisimula na ang Season 2 ng Pinoy Big Bother sa Linggo.
...Tinatapos kong basahin ang The Last Mythal (Forgotten Realms) trilogy ni Richard Baker.

Ghost Rider

Ghost Rider was an "okay" kind of movie. Entertaining enough but not exceptionally good nor outstanding. It was kind of a dissapointment for fans of the comic book character, but I guess the effort was there. The special effects also did not add significantlly to the overall appeal of the movie.

...Comparing McDonald's Strawberry Milkshake and Jollibee's Strawberry Jolly Shake, the McDonald's shake is so much better in terms of taste and consistency/smoothness. It's too bad McDonald's milkshakes are available only in particular stores like the one Glorietta.
...The NBA All-star Weekend 2007 recently concluded in Las Vegas with the West convincingly defeating the East. Kobe Bryant was the All-star game MVP. Congratulations to the Heat's Wade (for defending his Playstation Skills Challenge award) and Kapono (for winning in the 3-point shootout). It was great getting the chance to watch the events live on TV at home. I haven't been able to do that before eh.
...A lot of people already have their own digital cameras these days. When you're in a group and once the picture-taking starts, I find it funny that everyone gets out his/her camera and everybody asks the same person to take pictures one after the other. The problem is, this person is usually a waiter/passer-by/guard/etc. who simply doesn't give a damn about the quality of the image he'll be taking. Either the picture will be out of focus, blurry because of shaking, or dark because a finger'll be partly obscuring the flash. Most importantly, he usually justs shoots and doesn't care about the background/foreground and you end up with pictures with a lot of useless stuff occupying most of the shot. That is why when someone asks me to take pictures or when I offer to take pictures, I make it a point that I get a pretty good shot.

Zorro

Music!

Lokomotiv performed to a small-sized crowd at Music One in Greenbelt 3 yesterday. They were promoting their album Rock & Roll, Death Toll. Based in L.A., they have been here in the Philippines for the past few weeks doing several gigs. Composed of former Wolfgang bandmembers Basti Artadi on vocals and Wolf Gemora on drums, they are joined by David Aguirre on lead guitar and Daniel Gonzalez on bass guitar. They sang a total of 10 songs, I think, with their most applauded performance being their rendition of the Pinoy rock classic "Beep Beep''. Man, they were really ear-splitting loud! Even though i'm not really into rock, admittedly, they were quite good. They have a new album due out later this year and they promise to return and promote again here in the Philippines.

Norah Jones' third album is already out in the market. "Not Too Late" is available as a De Luxe Edition with music CD and bonus DVD featuring 3 music videos, an interview with Norah, 2 behnd-the-scenes videos, and 2 live bonus tracks. The first released single from the album is the song "Thinking About You" whose video is already getting airtime on MTV and Myx. Norah has been involved artistically in this album more than in her 2 previous ones. Although some listener reviews have been not that encouraging, I still think the CD is enjoyable owing to Norah's beautiful voice.
