Poseidon

Poseidon is the remake of a 1972 film and based on the book by Paul Gallico. If you read reviews, most belittle the film. I think it depends on what you're after when you will watch it. If you want a pretty deep story and dialogue, well, you won't find it in this movie. If you want special effects and prolonged suspense/thrilling sequences, then go ahead and watch it. What makes the movie rather exciting is, of course, the underwater scenes. You sometimes literally hold your breath like the characters when they swim towards one part of the ship and next. It is a disaster movie that makes you think what you will do if the same situation happened to you, and it tells you the truth - that survival is very bleak. Even if you survive initially, you'll be bound to succumb eventually unless you're very lucky. I give it 3 (out of 5) stars. It's something entertaining to see while waiting for The Da Vinci Code and X3. :)
