Stargazing

V

I was in Cubao today. I went around Gateway and found out that Fully Booked there also sells a variety of graphic novels. The National Bookstore Superbranch(building) also has a new external look. I wasn't able to go inside though.
I attended the 1st birthday party of my inaanak at McDonald's near Gateway. There were quite a few kids there, and it kind of made me feel out of place since I still have no children. :p Birdie (the mascot) made an appearance!
After the kiddie party, my friends and I watched V for Vendetta at Gateway. I don't exactly recall if I have seen a movie there before but the cinema was good. It had great seats and the design of the theater is such that you have an unobstructed view of the screen. The movie itself was nice. I have yet to read the comic it was based upon but the story was riveting and suspenseful. It had a good mix of action scenes, special effects and dialogue such that you wouldn't get too bored during the film. Natalie Portman gave an okay performance, and Hugo Weaving was quite good. All in all, the movie was worth watching.
I then went to Megamall to meet up with a friend. He was to treat me at Italliani's
since he recently celebrated his birthday. Had a sumptious meal: Sicilian Salad (salad with chicken, mango and grape slices), Angel Hair Meditarreneo, and perfectly grilled porkchops. We saw our former consultant at a nearby table also dining there with his family and they left earlier than us. As we were getting our bill, we found out that our bill was already paid for by our consultant! Talk about a free meal! :)

(walang pamagat)

Yung may dating ba. :)

Jogging

Nakapag-jogging ako ulit kanina pagkaraan ng ilang buwan! Saan pa, kundi sa UP Diliman?! :)

Jasmine

I really enjoy watching free mini-concerts at malls or at record stores. Watching live performances are definitely better than seeing these artists perform on TV or just listening to their albums. I'm not that much of a real concert-goer and the last concert that I paid to be able to watch was that of Norah Jones last year. I buy original CDs though, I guess that's my way of supporting OPM/ artists.

I just saw Jasmine Trias perform at Glorietta today! She is here in the Philippines to promote her debut album. She also did some TV guestings (I saw her at PBB where she stayed overnight at the PBB house, and she will also be seen at an episode of Ch 2's Your Song).

Jasmine Soriano Trias is an American citizen but fully Filipino by blood. I guess I'd describe her as a Filipinized American (an American who was born and raised in the US but in a Filipino fashion and imbued with good Filipino values). She shot to fame after finishing 3rd in Season 3 of American Idol. She was also an endorser of McDonald's last year (remember the Love Ko 'To song and the Jasmine Trio promo).

I'm not really a fan of hers, neither do I have her CD, but I wanted to see her perform live. Admittedly her voice has improved much since her Idol days, probably because of more confidence and practice. She's pretty and sexy too. She sang 4 songs that are included in her album. First was her signature song Inseparable (she sang this on Idol). She then sang Kung Paano composed by Vehnee Saturno (this is the featured song in the Your Song episode where Jasmine makes her acting debut). Sana Lang was her next Filipino song (this was originally a Korean song and was translated ). Her last song was Lose Control, with an upbeat tune that she danced to.

Her performance was good. After singing she then had an autograph signing session. The crowd wasn't that large ( I guess it wasn't advertised that much since I only knew about it in the morning). She says she'll be leaving tomorrow for a US Tour with South Border.

Tidbits... The new Jollibee Crispy Bangus Belly is really crispy and delicious! A word of caution to those on a diet though, it's deep fried and very oily.

Dijon...

I was able to taste the Dijon Potato Salad of CBTL. It consisted of boiled sliced mini potatoes, lettuce leaves, tomato slices, some pickeled garlic, all topped/ with accompanying dijon dressing/dip ( a mustard flavored, mayonnaise-type dressing). Hmmm... it's something different from the usual Ceasar, Thousand Island or Asian dressing that I'm used to. I kind of found it too salty, but the potatoes were good. :)

I saw Iya Villania and Cheska Garcia at Greenbelt. They both look slimmer in person, Iya is really pretty. :p

On my way home, I passed by Power Books. Sh*t! I saw a lot of new Graphic Novels/ Comics like the DC Countdown to Infinite Crisis series (OMAC Project, Villains United, and Day of Vengeance) and Crisis of Multiple Earths Team-Ups! It's a good thing I was able to control myself from buying (fact is that I really am trying to save) even if I have a Power Card (10% discount). If only Power Books was on sale, I'd probably have taken advantage of the 20% discount. :/

March

Sketchbooks, Greenbelt 3 is on SALE.

There will be a series of concerts at Glorietta 4 park this March: Kitchie Nadal on the 17th, Sugarfree on the 18th, Freestyle on the 24th, and Rivermaya on the 25th. There are other bands who will also perform on April, but they're not my type of bands/ music. Shows start at 6pm.

I have been watching PBB Celebrity Edition the past few weeks. I mentioned in my previous entry that I initially found Roxy and Bianca to be hot. I guess getting to know them and seeing them in the show, I realized that they're really not that great. They are the prettiest though. Compared to the first PBB, the latest edition has more twists and turns, more exciting moments, more drama, and definitely more crying.

Hmmm... the Ceasar's salad of CBTL tastes better than that of Starbucks but it's more costly. The serving size of Starbucks is smaller but it has bacon bits. The best Ceasar's salad i've ever tasted is still Mario's, Tony Roma's and Italliani's (in that order).
The new Macaroni Salad Supreme of Jollibee is passable, nothing spectacular. It will probably taste better cold/ chilled.
