The Tales of Beedle the Bard

This book is a new translation by Hermione Granger, with commentary by Albus Dumbledore and an introduction, additional notes and illustrations by J.K. Rowling. There are 5 short tales: The Wizard and The Hoppity Pot, The Fountain of Fair Fortune, The Warlock's Hairy Heart, Babbitty Rabbitty and Her Cackling Stump, The Tale of The Three Brothers (which was also featured in the last Harry Potter book). This hardcover edition is 112pp and priced at P649 (at Powerbooks). Part of the proceeds go to Rowling's charity foundation for children.

The book is short but very easy and fun to read, especially for readers of the HP series. For HP die-hards, I'd suggest waiting for the paperback version for your pesonal copies. Dumbledor's comments and Rowling's notes tie in to the HP books and are insightful and interesting.

4 stars.
